Presentation and Feedback

Climb is an app that is specifically aimed at the adventurous type: Hikers, Mountain Bikers, Joggers, or anyone who likes to explore- or get their workout- through unconventional surroundings. There are plenty of apps that can help someone plan their jogging or biking route through streets and roads while tracking their progress. However, Climb offers those who travel off the grid to actively plan their workout, or adventure, while monitoring their statistics and sharing them with others - all hands free.

The Climb team used various tools to collaborate for the project. We used Twitter and Facebook to get our message out, while using Google Drive and G+ to come together and work on making our idea a reality.

#CLIMB4GLASS

#CLIMB4GLASS was developed as a project for Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications course, #NewhouseSM4 under the direction of Dr. William Ward. also known as #DR4WARD

Social Media is moving at a steady pace, with new technology being developed everyday, it is essential as a young professional, to stay on top of what's new, hip, and innovative. I had the opportunity to try out #GOOGLEGLASS for the first time! After testing it out, I knew it was next level. Google Glass has the ability to start a new revolution for media and communications professionals. This device is small, but it does a lot. After testing it out, I started thinking about ways in which this new technology could solve a problem. Originally, I had an idea to use Geo-Location as a way to find the nearest parties and events in collaboration with hashtags used throughout various social media platforms to archive live pictures, videos, and conversations around specific, local events for app users. This idea is still a great, and feasible idea, but for this class, with the help of Nick, the original idea shifted to #CLIMB4GLASS.

With the use of Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+, and Google Hangout, Brandi, Nick and I were able to merge ideas and create an app that is capable of using Google Glass technology to help users CLIMB to an adventurous, next level workout (running/jogging/walking). #CLIMB4GLASS allows users to voice what they want, without slowing down their speed, and pace. It allows users to save money on personal trainers, because this app takes the place. #CLIMB4GLASS allows users to challenge their friends and share their custom routes with friends on social media. If users are in a new town, maybe on vacation and they still want to get that morning run in, #CLIMB4GLASS allows users to explore new areas, and remember it with video and photo features.
#CLIMB4GLASS is the only way!
